TUIGA is one of the world's most celebrated classic yachts. Built in 1909, she has survived more than a century of racing. For the past thirty years she has sailed proudly under the burgee of the Yacht Club de Monaco. Today she is cherished not only as a living link to maritime history, but also as the beating heart of the Club's identity. Her significance extends beyond her graceful lines. For His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, Tuiga embodies his lifelong love of the sea and his tireless commitment to its protection. A passionate sailor and defender of the oceans, the Prince has ensured that she continues to inspire as a symbol of Monaco's maritime spirit. In creating this Rock & Royals artwork, I sought to celebrate that dual legacy of a yacht and of a Prince's passion for the Ocean. Onto the weathered fabric of Tuiga's sail, I incorporated motifs inspired by two of the Principality's highest honours: The Ordre de Saint-Charles, founded by Prince Charles Ill, and the Order of Grimaldi, bestowed in the name of the sovereign family. Together these emblems anchor the piece in heritage and honour, transforming the sail into both portrait and symbol, a reflection of Monaco's Royal history and love of the sea.
